“EHTV is designed to entertain, educate and most of all, share our expertise and excitement about our heritage with a wider audience. Naturally, we want our Young History Presenter of the Future to do the same.”
Ten finalists will attend a presenting master class to receive training, and TV historian Dan Snow will be on hand to give top-tips. The finalists will also record their own professional show reel to help the judges make a final decision.
Judge and presenter Dan Snow, said: “We are looking for videos or scripts which reflect a true love of history as well as a freshness and originality which will make it relevant to today’s audiences. I am crazy about history and love presenting, so I can’t wait to find someone who shares both my passions.”
The winner will join the ranks of celebrity EHTV presenters Lawrence Llewellyn-Bowen, Dan Snow and Konnie Huq.
Their winning reel will be shown on EHTV and they will get to work with TV production company Ballista for a special one-off programme.
All entries should be sent to: Young History Presenter of the Future Competition, 4a Hanover House, Queen Charlotte Street, Bristol, BS1 4EX and will need to be received by October 31 2008.
