Sirs,
This stone carving clearly has two horns, and is
therefore very likely to be the Celtic god Cernunnos
or Taranis.
I think the concentric circle design is EITHER
a Saxon(?) addition to the original pagan carving
showing a stylized Christ on the cross with a halo &
arms at 45 degrees, as in many rough-hewn Irish church
crosses of the middle ages.
OR (along with the pellet type designs) the stylised
“ear” of Philip II of Macedon which appears known as
the cup & ball design... (SEE 2 CELTIC COINS
