COME FACE TO FACE WITH A GHOSTLY FEMALE AT THE V&A

Event notice - Friday Late Collaborate at the V&A, Londonfor one night only, Friday February 29 2008, 6.30pm – 10pm.

A ghostly woman rises like a siren and floats towards the assembled people who, mesmerised, try to reach out to her.

The apparition is a 3D projection - part of a remarkable installation by Billy Cowie called in The Flesh, showing tonight from 6.30 until 10pm as part of the V&A’s Late Collaborate series.

In The Flesh invites the audience to enter the darkened space wearing anaglyph 3D glasses. On reaching their designated spot they are surprised to see a dancer in front of them who appears to be actually in the space, solid and real in the flesh. At the end of her dance she fades into nothing.

It is just one of the artworks that visitors will get the chance to experience during a night of installations, performances, soundscapes and light shows including DJ sets, Punch and Judy Bible Stories and strange costume processions.

Friday Late events are held on the last Friday in every month at the V&A and start at 6.30pm, admission is free. See the V&A website for more details.
