Bright Sparks At Leicester City Gallery

The sixth annual exhibition of artwork by users of mental health services in Leicester is being held at the City Gallery from October 10-21 2006.

The colourful display will be highly eclectic, with painting, ceramics, photography, drawing and sculpture.

“Past exhibitions have demonstrated a broad range of talent and emotional impact, from pure joie de vivre to the darker side of the self,” says organiser Tim Sayers.

Participation in the exhibition is open to anyone who is or has been a user of the mental health services in the city, and will be launched on World Mental Health Day, October 10.

"It's a great exhibition, with a real mix of work and talent," says Andrea Colver, gallery press officer, "but the brilliant thing about this exhibition is the sense of achievement by all the participants."
