MGM 2008 - Brand New Podcasts Added To The MGM Discover London Trails

By 24 Hour Museum Staff

29/07/2008

The Discover London Trails, developed as walking trails for Museums and Galleries Month, now boast three new podcasts that add to the experience of exploring the capital’s heritage, communities and history.

With funding from The London Development Agency, the podcasts cover London and its sports heritage, the capital’s Chinese connections and London as a world city.

The Sports Trail podcast allows you to explore how museums in the capital are integral to the celebration of four of our favourite sports: Cricket, Football, Rugby and Tennis. Exploring Chinese Culture was chosen for one of the podcasts to celebrate the Olympic year in China. London’s history as shaped by immigration, shipping and emigration are among the themes in the World City Trail podcast.

As well as adding information to three of the 15 trails currently available in PDF format via 24 Hour Museum, the new podcasts also include interviews with curators at various museums along each trail.

The podcasts were develped by YadaYada and are available via their website, www.yada-yada.co.uk and the 24 Hour Museum website.

The Discover London Trails were set up in 2005 as part of Museums and Galleries Month and have since proved popular as a way to explore the capital for very little cost while discovering London's hidden treasures and smaller museums.
