Cornerhouse Galleries

70 Oxford Street, Manchester, M1 5NH, England

Cornerhouse is one of the UK's leading centres for film and visual arts. Since opening in 1985 it has achieved an international reputation for artistic excellence and innovation. The galleries bring the best in contemporary visual arts to the city, exhibiting work of international significance, initiating and receiving touring exhibitions while also identifying opportunities to support and promote artists from the North West. The programme provides a launch pad for young artists as well as exhibiting established British and foreign artists through a balance of solo and themed exhibitions, retrospectives and the commissioning of new work. Collaborations with other galleries, resulting in national and international tours of Cornerhouse initiated exhibitions, also serve to enhance Cornerhouse's worldwide reputation
