Description
For two hundred years the Ironbridge Gorge has inspired some of history’s most amazing engineering and technological leaps into the future. The tradition is alive today as the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust opens the doors on its most dynamic and interactive attraction yet. Enginuity, the tenth in the series of Museums' opened on 6th August 2002 in the historic heartland of the Ironbridge World Heritage Site. As soon as you arrive the exhibits will inspire you and your family to became apprentice engineers for the day. You will be free to experiment with the gadgets and know how used to design and make the things we see and use every day.
Pull a real locomotive, control the flow of water to generate electricity, pitch yourself against the speed and accuracy of a robot, or work as a team to run the Crazy Boiler — but beware of the consequences as it may run out of control!
For the young and young at heart, take a trip to Ironbridge this year and experience a new and challenging day out. Allow about two hours for your visit. Enginuity will offer an exciting range of activity workshops based around Design and Make Assignments. Aimed at Key Stages 1, 2, and 3, these will meet the learning goals of the National Curriculum and QCA schemes of work. Throughout the year there will also be a fun and challenging series of hands on activities and special events for all ages and abilities.
