Description
To preserve and make available for research records and photographs relating to the history of Bristol.
Collections description
Records include:
Official archives e.g. Bristol City Council, petty and quarter sessions, coroner, hospitals and schools
Ecclesiastical archives e.g. Diocese of Bristol, Bristol C of E parish records, nonconformist records
Private gifts and deposits e.g. businesses, clubs & societies, landed estates notably the Smyth family of Ashton Court, individuals.
