Description
Kendal is situated on the edge of the English Lake District and is home to one of the country's oldest museums. Founded in 1796, Kendal Museum's fascinating collections include local Archaeology, History, Geology and a Natural History collection from around the globe. Kendal Museum also has a changing programme of temporary exhibitions, events, courses and lectures. Children and families are warmly welcomed with hands-on exhibits, worksheets, activities during school holidays and a branch of The Young Archaeologists' Club. Education is seen as a primary function of Kendal Museum. Our aim is to enable visitors of all ages, and especially those from schools, to gain a deeper understanding and enjoyment from the material in our collections.
