Description
The Royal Marines Museum, Eastney is an award winning Museum and is housed in what was one of the most stately Officers Messes in England (Eastney Barracks). It is here where you can discover the exciting story of the Royal Marines brought to life through dramatic and interactive displays and its world famous medal collection.
You can find out how Hannah Snell posed as a man and served as a marine in India in 1740. Explore the Jungle warfare room but watch out for the live snake and scorpion! Find out how the elite troops of the Royal Marines were closely involved in both World Wars, Battle of Trafalgar, Falklands War – the list goes on.
Every year the Royal Marines play a key part in resolving conflicts and keeping peace around the world – this is your chance to see it all under one roof.
It’s the closest you’ll get to experiencing life as a Royal Marine without joining up!
