Description
The Old Gaol stands in the centre of the town of Buckingham, looks like a castle and is an early example of 18th century Gothic architecture. Its strange appearance and interesting history means that it was chosen as one of the Jewels of Milton Keynes. A tour of the museum takes the visitor through the story of the old county town to today. A recent addition is our permanent Flora Thompson exhibition, which also includes a display relating to the BBC1 TV drama production of 'Lark Rise to Candleford'.
