Description
Poole Museum is housed in a nineteenth century quayside mill, extended in 2007.
Poole's rich history is revealed in four floors of galleries, with displays and exhibitions ranging from archaeology to art and pirates to potteries.
The Poole Local History Centre, part of the Museum Service, is housed in an attached medieval wool house, one of the most important early port buildings in Europe.
Scaplen's Court, a medieval domestic domestic building, is the home of the Poole Museum learning service, and is open to the public in August. Scaplen's Court herb garden is open to the public May to September.
The learning service also uses a reconstructed Romano-British farmstead in Upton Country Park.
