Description
As well as looking into the colourful history and heritage of Staithes itself, there is a tribute to the area most famous son, Captain James Cook.

Collections description
A complete recreation of Sanderson's shop, where a young Captain Cook was once an apprentice as well as an enormous
amount of information about the fishing and mining industries which were very important to Staithes, with its rich deposits of Alum, Iron Ore and latterly, Potash.
