Description
Stowe is a 100ha (250 acre) work of art, both beautiful and full of meaning. With its ornamental lakes, glorious open spaces and wooded valleys, adorned with over 40 temples and monuments, it is one of the supreme creations of the Georgian era.
The lengthy programme of restoration began in 1989 and is now two-thirds underway. Today you can enjoy the unrivalled beauty of Stowe as its former splendour emerges.
Stowe House, magnificent home to Stowe School, is opened to the public by the Stowe House Preservation Trust.
