Description
A new and exciting venue, Priory House Heritage Centre is THE place to visit in South Bedfordshire. Hosting a range of events and exhibitions it is an educational resource, home of the local archive and as a base for evening classes, guided walks and a great place to visit.
Originally a hostel for an Augustinian Priory, it was converted into a house after the reformation. Since then it has also been a private mental hospital a hat factory and offices, before opening as a heritage centre in 2005.
Collections description
Unlike a museum, the display will not be collection based, although some artifacts will be on show. It will focus on the town history, including the Romans, Henry I and Henry VIII.
