Waygood Gallery & studios are currently awaiting a major redevelopment of its city centre site, meanwhile the studios are located in Byker.
Description
Waygood Gallery and Studios is one of the UK’s leading artist-led contemporary visual arts venues and is awaiting a multi-million pound redevelopment of the Wards Building in High Bridge, Newcastle.
The redeveloped Waygood Gallery and Studios will create: thirty-one new/refurbished artists studios; two new, state of the art galleries; a new Education Resource Centre and a new café bar and live music venue and will be open in Spring 2009.
Until then Waygood continues its programme of artists projects including the Little Jewel Cinema in a former shop front window at 31 High Bridge with films running daily 10am-10pm and Harker Herald outside its temporary home at Harkers Building, 548-560 Shields Road, Byker, but has no public access galleries.
