Firepower offers a first class learning experience, which can be tailored to meet the needs of many groups: schools (key stages 2, 3, and 4), further education, adult learning, special needs groups, and military historians.
An education resource has been developed and is available on request. This pack contains booking information for school visits, cross-curricular links and project ideas and exemplar worksheets for key stages 2-4.
Literacy and numeracy projects are being developed and will be available shortly.
The education programme for schools is being developed using the National Curriculum 2000, with input from experienced teachers, local Education Authorities and other advisors. If you are a teacher or student and have any comments or suggestions on what you would like to see happening please contact Bob Lindridge.
Teachers’ Packs and worksheets, information on the handling collection and outreach programme, will be downloadable from our website. Learning activities will be centred on term-time, after school and summer schools. Costumed interpreters can bring the exhibits to life. Facilities also exist for individual research using the extensive archives on site.

Description
From Badajoz to Burma, Colenso to Kosovo, for three centuries the Royal Regiment of Artillery has provided the firepower in every theatre of war in which the British Army has been engaged.
Key to its contribution has been the development and deployment of state-of-the-art technology. At Firepower, you can trace the evolution of artillery from stone shot to shell and from rocket to missile.
FIREPOWER is a dignified memorial to Gunners 'everywhere', displaying the medals, poignant personal artefacts, photographs and documents which tell the stories of the men and women who served the guns. Located in the historic Royal Arsenal, the site of ordnance manufacturing and proofing for over 300 years.
