Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 10.00 to 18.00

Closed
The Library is closed on Sundays, bank holiday weekends, between Christmas and New Year, and for one week during the summer vacation.

Admission charges
The Library is free to use and open to everyone.
You do not need to make an appointment, but will need to register as a user on your first visit. To do this, please bring a driving licence, passport, current utility bill or bank statment as proof of identity. Registering should only take a few minutes.

The Wellcome Library is one of the world's greatest collections of books, manuscripts, pictures and films around the meaning and history of medicine from the earliest times to the present day.

Our collections span the globe from Aztec medicine to Japanese surgery and include film, photographs, manuscripts, archives, paintings and books.
