Closed during the winter from begining of November to the end of March. However, visitors are always welcome. Just knock on the door, and if possible (staff/volunteer wise) we will let you in to look around. A donation is always welcome!

Description
Possibly the oldest independent museum in Scotland. Established in 1836, with the purpose built museum opening in 1842. Italianate style building has recently undergone a half million pound refurbishment (2003).

Collections description
Wold famous fossil collection, Romano-Celtic collection, Pictish Stones, and the "People & Place" Exhibition.
Awarded Four Stars by the Scottish Tourist Board in 2004 and the Winner of the Moray Access Panel Award for the Best Renovated building in Moray 2004.
