Description
The museum collections are housed in four historically rich buildings. The two main galleries (which are the only two remaining Victorian Infantry barrack blocks left in Aldershot) tell the military and civilian stories of Aldershot, Farnborough and Cove. Montgomery's barn originally belonged to Field Marshal Montgomery, it was moved to the museum in 1995/6 and now displays a selection of the museum's vehicle and artillery pieces. Our newest addition to the museum is a 1930's wooden barrack hut moved from Queen Elizabeth Barracks, Church Crookham. This new building contains an exhibition about the camp at Church Crookham, as well as a lecture room. The lecture room can be hired out to both community groups and businesses.
The museum also provides a unique venue for children's birthday parties, where children can dress up in military uniforms and get to have tea in one of the museum's armoured personnel carriers!

Collections description
The museum collections represent the histories of the Aldershot Military Town, and the adjoining civil towns of Aldershot and Farnborough. The collections are a rich mixture of both social history and military: objects, ephemera and vehicles.
The museums exhibits items such as objects belonging to aviator Samuel Cody (the first man to make a powered flight in Britain), items from the Empress Eugenie collection, as well as military objects such as two main battle tanks.
