Description
The museum was established in 1903 and is located in a 17th century town house with an attractive Jacobean style garden. The museum has changing temporary exhibitions and provides events and activities for all throughout the year. There is a popular activity room upstairs which can also be used for lectures and talks. The museum boasts a strong Friends organisation which is actively involved in raising the profile of the museum through events and talks.
Collections description
Extensive collections from Hertford, Hertfordshire and beyond. Local archaeology, social history, photographs, paintings and prints, plus ethnographic collection and Hertfordshire regiment collection.
