Description
Deep inside the 6,000-year-old mound lies one of the finest Neolithic dolmens in Europe. Older than the pyramids of Egypt, the 13m high mound is topped by a medieval chapel to make a picturesque vantage point in the island. Nearby, a reconstructed Neolithic house and activity area bring the Stone Age to life – a big hit with younger visitors – whilst our Archaeology and Geology galleries offer a rare insight into the period. A World War II German Command bunker houses a moving memorial to the forced workers who died in the Channel Islands during the Occupation.
