There is free parking, a souvenir shop, cafeteria, grassed picnic area, memorial garden and facilities for the disabled.

Description
The Museum was opened in 1982 with exhibits depicting 70 years of military aviation in Sussex, with special emphasis on the RAF at Tangmere and the air war over southern England from 1939 to 1945. The Museum has an intimate atmosphere lacking in many other museums of this kind; perhaps this is due to the enthusiasm of the volunteers who run the museum - many of whom were wartime RAF pilots, navigators and groundcrew.

Collections description
The Merston Hall is the newest and largest part of the Museum. Built in the style of a hangar, the Hall houses several aircraft, including two World Speed Record holders on loan from the RAF; (one of these is the famous red Hunter flown by Neville Duke from Tangmere). There are also full size replicas of a Hurricane and a Spitfire.
The Tangmere Hall has exhibits illustrating the history of Tangmere from 1917 to 1970. Part of it is devoted to the Lysander pilots who flew secret agents to and from occupied Europe - others to the Royal Flying Corps and theWomen's Auxiliary Air Force. A large model depicts Tangmere prior to the Lufwaffe bombing of 1940.
The Battle of Britain Hall concentrates on the critical air battles of 1940, with aircraft remains, personal effects, photographs and paintings (both Allied and German).
The Middle Hall has models of the Mohne Dam, uniform displays, RAF Regiment armaments, Desert Air Force models and other memorabilia.
