Description
The Museum was set up in 1999 and is located in the former Magistrates Courthouse. The building was constructed in 1896 and was used as a court until 1995. The museum was set up by the Petersfield Area Historical Society who collected objects and artefacts for about 30 years before the museum was set up as a central resource.
Collections description
The museum holds collections on the social, industrial and agricultural history of Petersfield and the surrounding villages. The collections are made up from artefacts and archives (including maps, oral history accounts, and photographs).

A recent acquistion is the Bedales collection of Historic costume, which consists of approximately 1000 pieces dating from 1720.
