Description
Bersham Ironworks is where John Wilkinson, the late 18th industrial pioneer had his first ironworks. The site was excavated in the early 1990s and you can see the remains. Inside the old mill ar the ironworks there is a "son et lumiere/light and sound" interpretation of life as a foundryman.
Bersham Heritage Centre is the local industrial history centre for the Clywedog Valley and it is an ideal stop off point on the Clwyedog Trail, a nine mile footpath that links all the local industrial heritage sites. There is an ever changing exhibitions programme aimed at families and schools.New displays in permanent gallery from May 2007 on John Wilkinson, Wales & the Wider World
