Open
The Minster is open daily for early services from 7.00am and usually closes at 6.30pm.
For sightseeing in the Minster:
Mon - Sat: 9.00am (9.30am November- March) - last entry 5.00pm Sunday: 12.00noon - 3.45pm
No sightseeing on Good Friday and Easter Sunday or on Sundays before 12.00noon.
Guided tours can be arranged for visiting groups, and in a number of different languages. Please contact us at visitors@yorkminster.org at least 28 days in advance of your visit to arrange a guided tour.

Admission charges
Charges are made for those visiting for sightseeing purposes. No charges are made for those who wish to enter the Minster to pray or light a candle. Please ask a member of staff on arrival.
The Minster receives no financial support from central or local government for the building's upkeep and reluctantly, we have had to introduce an entry charge to maintain this holy and historic building. We trust you understand why we have had to take this step.
The charges are:
Entry into the Minster
Adult: £5.50
Senior (60+)/student: £4.50
Child (under 16s): Free
Entry to the Undercroft, Treasury & Crypt (includes free audio tour)
Adult: £4.00
Senior (60+)/student: £3.00
Children: £2.00
Entry to the Tower:
Adult: £4.00
Senior (60+)/student: £3.00
Children: £2.00
Minster Plus Ticket:
Entry to the Minster and Undercroft, Treasury & Crypt (includes free audio tour)
or
Entry to the Minster and Tower.
Adult: £7.50
Senior (60+)/student: £6.00
Child: £2.00
Do Everything Ticket:
Adult: £9.00
Senior (60+)/student: £7.50
Child: £3.00
Photography including camcorders, for personal use, is free.
Photographs are not permitted to be taken in the Undercroft.

York Minster provides a wealth of history for you to discover. The Minster itself is an architectural masterpiece and a treasure house of stained glass. It is a living community of Christian worship where the sound of choral music has lifted the spirits of visitors and pilgrims for centuries.
We want you to enjoy your visit and make the most of your time here. Come and experience the beauty of the Quire and the Chapter House. Discover the Minster's fascinating history that comes alive in the Undercroft, Treasury and Crypt.
Gaze from the top of the Central Tower, across the pinnacles and gargoyles of the Minster, looking out onto the medieval streets of historic York and to the countryside beyond.
