Disabled parking spaces are available at the Elsecar Heritage Centre in the main Car Park. Toilet facilities are available around site and within our event venue, Building 21, for people with disabilities. Please note that all the Centre run attractions are fully wheelchair accessible.

Description
The award winning Elsecar Heritage Centre is an exciting History and Craft Centre, set in the attractive conservation village of Elsecar and surrounded by beautiful South Yorkshire countryside. The Centre is located within the former ironworks and colliery workshops of the Earls Fitzwilliam, where visitors can explore the attractively restored buildings and monuments, wander alongside the Dearne and Dove Canal and follow footpaths including a branch of the Trans-Pennine Trail.
Features include:- Elsecar Steam Railway, Antiques Centre, Indoor Childrens' Activity Centre, an array of craft and small business units, the world famous Newcomen Beam Engine, and regular weekend special events from Wartime Weekends, monthly antique fairs to Championship Dog Shows.

Collections description
The Newcomen Beam Engine: The only Newcomen type engine, world wide, to remain in its original location, a unique monument to the industrial age. Guided group tours available upon request. Craft Workshops: Elsecar's vast array of working crafts people offer a very special shopping experience for all visitors. Special Events: In addition to the permanent attractions Elsecar hosts a comprehensive year-round schedule of events, including themed children's activities, garden displays and vintage vehicle shows. Please ring for further details and an event leaflet. Hot Metal Press: A unique working collection of typesetting equipment and letterpress printing machines, some of which are 'hands-on'.
