Description
Founded in 1884, the Museum researches, gathers and cares for archaeology and anthropology collections from all parts of the world and makes those collections available to public visitors, researchers and scholars. In 1997 the Museum was "designated" and recognised as one of Britain's outstanding collections.
Collections description
The collections and their associated photographic and archival material are of outstanding research and historical value; they cover the ethnography and pre-history of the world together with local archaeology.
