Description
The Household Cavalry Museum collection represents over 300 years of military history and reflects the unique ceremonial and operational role of the Regiment. These collections are to be re-displayed in a new museum, scheduled to open in July 2007, at Horse Guards.
The museum gallery will provide an introduction to the dual role of today’s Household Cavalry Regiment and trace its origins and historical development. Visitors will also gain access to the working stable block and see behind the scenes of public duty.
The regimental archive will re-open to the public in December 2007 at Combermere Barracks, Windsor SL2 3DN (Tel: 01753-755194). The archive, library, and education department will form part of a new collection resource facility that will support the Household Cavalry Museum in London.
