Description
Minera Lead Mines is an old lead processing works which was excavated and restored during the 1990s. Although the mine is too dangerous for the public to go down, you can still see and explore the old works where families worked turning lumps of ore into sellable lead and zinc. You can also climb the restored beam engine house (similar to the tin mines' engine houses in Cornwall) for views over the historic Clywedog Valley. New for 2005: redisplay of the visitor centre. new for 2007: free children's activity trail.
