BUCKS FINEST EXHIBITION
By Jamie Everitt

Bucks Finest is a new exhibition at the Bucks County Museum in Aylesbury celebrating the museum's 100th year. It tells the story of how the museum came into being, showcases some of the best objects from the collections and asks what the public want to collect in the future.

The exhibition features some rare objects, including an extinct beaver's skeleton, a banyan (a rare 18th century man's jacket) and objects from Egyptian tombs.

It also tells the story of Bucks people - including Arnold Trubshaw, whose left his daughter his last wage packet when he went to the First World War in 1916, promising to double it when he returned. When he was killed just before the war ended she never spent the money, and his wage packet is one of the exhibits.

Bucks Finest runs from December 2005 until May 2006 and entry is free
