The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Great Misseden has won a Best Small Attraction of the year award for 2007.

The award, part of the Tourist ExSellence Awards were announced at a glittering ceremony at the Wentworth Club in Surrey on Tuesday October 25 2007.

Amelia Foster, Museum Director said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won this award. It reflects the dedication and enthusiasm of all who have been involved with the museum since it opened in June 2005.”

The museum has forged a reputation as one of the most creative, exciting and high quality museums in the UK and has been shortlisted for national and international awards.

It scored highly in all criteria with outstanding access for visitors, innovative marketing campaigns, partnership and outreach work across the community and a constantly evolving series of activities and events to attract new and repeat visitors.

The museum now goes through to the national Enjoy England Excellence Awards, for which the shortlist will be announced next spring.
