The final weekend of Museums and Galleries Month 2008 is nigh, so we thought we'd remind Londoners there's one really good MGM event in London this weekend, and if you can't make that, then you can still catch the museum bus in the capital.

The bus features six fascinating objects from London’s smaller museums, each accompanied by an intriguing question about the object. You can find out the answers at www.culture24.org.uk/bus

Covering routes 8 and 15, the special museum bus also has its own Facebook group.

The London Museums Hub, which organised the bus project, also had a hand in the Discover London Trails which you can download from the 24 Hour Museum.

If you like those, you'll like the 'Long Walk' marking the final day of MGM 2008. This extreme Discover London Trail on Saturday May 31 will take walkers through a complete history of London – all in one day!

Led by Kevin Flude, Director of the Old Operating Theatre Museum, and expert leader of guided walks, walkers will weave through the City and Southwark discovering each period of London's history - beginning with the origins of the name Londinium, going on through medieval, Tudor and Victorian London, and ending in Bankside amidst London's newest cultural quarter.

The walk starts at Tower Bridge Tube Station at 10.30am and finishes at 8.30pm in a pub in Bankside. However, you can join the walk at various times during the day if you can't handle the full trek.

A fee is payable for this tour, with all proceeds going towards the Old Operating Theatre. Tickets can be booked at express.ts.com/k?curator, where there are also more details on the itinerary.
