Royal Mail chose the Pond Life stamp series as part of its contribution to the Europe-wide Europa stamp theme of Water and Natural Resources. That's why two of the stamps have the Europa logo in the top left corner of the stamp.
Pictured on the stamps are the Common Frog, a Great Diving Beetle, a Three-Spined Stickleback and a Southern Hawker Dragonfly.
