As part of a series events programmed around the Museum of London's Roots to Reckoning exhibition Ekow Eshun came to give a talk about growing up as a black boy in Seventies London. You can download the talk, and some of the ensuing conversation below.

Ekow Eshun is a writer, broadcaster and Director of the ICA. Born in London of Ghanaian parents, he lived briefly in Ghana before returning to London when he was five. His book Black Gold of the Sun describes his return to Ghana in his early thirties, in search of his own identity and family history. The book also looks back at his life as a child and young man in London.

Ekow Eshun's talk was a combination of readings from his book and reflections on what his journey to Ghana revealed.
